Milton Hershey School Pole Vault, Javelin, & Cross Country Coach Dave Krahling
Coaching facts as of June 2007
As a High School and College Track and Field Athlete, “Coach Dave” has track & field in his blood.
He volunteered as the javelin coach for 2 years at the Milton Hershey School before a paid position opened up. In 2003 the MHS pole vault coach resigned, and Coach Krahling was approached by Head Coach Galloway, asking if he could take on that event, too. Over time a position opened up for coaching cross country, and Dave was hired as the middle school assistant. At that time there were less then 20 kids on both the middle school and varsity teams.
In 2006 he assumed to head varsity position. Now heading into the '07 season, Coach Krahling has over 70 MHS kids signed up and they are looking to compete for the conference titles for both their boys and girls teams.
Coach Krahling, with the help of his vaulter, Crista Raymond, broke all and set new female pole vault records for MHS. He is also a certified personal trainer and speed & agility coach, and is owner of Spark Kettlebell Gym in Palmyra, PA.
