Ponaganset High School Track Coach Jim Caron
Coach Caron is a soft spoken, dedicated man that the Ponaganset High School athletes are happy to have!
The pole vault is Coach Caron’s passion, and he is a member of the NPVCA (National Pole Vault Coaches Assocation). Joining NPVCA was a natural for Coach Caron and he successfully took on Bill Falk’s curriculum during a past year’s annual coach’s camp held at RI College.
Every spring Coach Caron and Ponaganset High School host a memorial pole vault meet that draws vaulters from Rhode Island and throughout New England. The New England Cross Country Championships are held often at Coach Caron’s School – recently in 2006 and again in 2007.
Keep your eye on Coach Caron’s former vaulters – twin brothers Matt & Zach Jaffa are now competing for Brown University.
