About Cast Iron Shot Puts:
  • Cast iron shot puts are official weight and size.
  • These shots provide a rough textured surface due to the nature of being cast iron.
  • Throw them in practice and in competition meets.
  • These are the most common shot puts you will see around high school practices & meets.
  • Throwing implements are not warrantied due to the nature of the event.

    Cast Iron Shot Put Sizes Available:
  • 4 lb., 5 lb., 6 lb.
  • 8 lb. used in many Junior High Schools (but check your own local rules – there are no hard and fast rules for middle school or junior high school throwers)
  • 10 lb.
  • 12 lb. for High School Boys
  • 14 lb.
  • 16 lb. for Men up to age 49
  • 18 lb., 20 lb.
  • 3kg for Women over age 50
  • 4kg for Girls and Women up to age 49, and for Men over age 70
  • 5kg for Men ages 60-69
  • 6kg for Men ages 50-59
