About Brian Oldfield:
Brian first threw over 70 feet as a glider in 1972.
Brian set the Indoor World record of 70' 10 1/2" in 1973.
He last threw over 70 feet in 1985 at the age of 40. This still stands as an age group record.
Set the unofficial World Record of 75 feet in 1975.
Brian set the American Record of 72' 9" in 1984 at the Bruce Jenner Invitational.
His personal bests are 204' in the discus, 180' in the hammer and 210' in the javelin.
Born in 1945, attended Middle Tennessee State.
About Ramona Pagel:
Ramona has coached at the collegiate level for many successful years at such places as Fresno State, Southeastern Louisiana, Radford, & Kent State.
In addition her coaching background, Pagel has enjoyed success at all levels. A four-time Olympian ('84, '88, '92, '96), Pagel was a gold medalist at the 1987 Pan Am Games and is the American record holder in the shot put with a distance of 66-2.50. She has also experienced success at the collegiate level, as she was a seven-time All-American and 1984 NCAA Outdoor champion in the shot put. Pagel has also been involved in various capacities with USA Track and Field and the United States Olympic Committee. Addtionally, Pagel was named to the coaching staff of the World Indoor Championships.
She was born in1948 and attended San Diego State and Kent State.
