Subtle but important differences in
discus design and weight distribution make a big difference in discus performance.
A general rim weight guide follows:
Very High Spin (85-92% Rim Weight)
- Advanced discus throwers who generate a lot of spin on the discus.
High
Spin (75-80% Rim Weight) - Above average discus throwers who generate a little
less spin than the advanced thrower.
Low Spin (70-75% Rim Weight) -
Intermediate discus throwers who generate a moderate amount of spin on the discus.
Center Weighted (50-60% Rim Weight) - Beginning discus throwers who
do not generate much spin on the discus.
